World Of Warcraft Classic Servers Are Back Online After A Wave Of DDoS Attacks

Image
Last night, the US World of Warcraft Classic server suffered a number of DDoS attacks. Blizzard's North American customer support team reports that the server is now back online and running stable. According to BTS Kotaku, the wave of DDoS attacks began at 3pm yesterday and a Twitter account, UkDrillas, claimed responsibility. The twitter account was alerted 30 minutes before each attack, but has since been suspended and the tweet deleted. It has not been confirmed whether twitter accounts were actually responsible for the DDoS attack. At the time of the attack, Blizzard confirmed the problems via Twitter, explaining that it was actively working to prevent damage. "Some online services continue to be impacted by a series of DDoS attacks which are resulting in high latency and disconnections," the tweet says. "These disruption effects have been felt by a portion of our players, impacting their gaming experience. Thank you again for your continued patience."

Yes, he did write, in the hope of receiving a $4,500 reward for "The Brazilian Blade". After he sent the customer service letter, Ubisoft replied within half an hour, haysta

Ubisoft's putting a stop to Assassin's Creed Odyssey XP Farming Quests.

Image
Assassin's Creed Odyssey's Story Creator mode is a compact editor that allows you to design and share quests using some of the same tools. Soon, players realized they could use it to promote XP and cash, too, with minimal effort. That won't last, though, because ubisoft wants to stop it. Give people mod tools and they'll do a lot of great things, and unless the Assassin's Creed Odyssey has an experience system, they'll crash it. Ubisoft put their foot down on players making self-completing XP farming quests, officially stating that their prevalence leads to "less visibility for the creative, interesting and frankly fantastic community stories that have been published". "These exploits risk jeopardising the overall quality, integrity, and purpose of Story Creator Mode and results in less visibility for the creative, interesting and frankly fantastic community stories that have been published," reads the forum announcement.
